Top Four IT Threats
Top Four IT Threats - This past week, I listened as an Information Technology Security Expert explained how his team had been able to use technology to successfully simulate physical damage to an energy plant without having anyone onsite. Right then I thought, what's the likelihood that the plant's management team had taken that risk into consideration? Based on industry research, they should have. Executives around the globe identified these four as the highest ranking IT threats.
Insider Threats - Deliberate attacks from current or former employees and contractors
Attacks from the Outside - Phishing, cyber-threats, fraud, security breaches
Errors and Mistakes - Lost laptops, inadvertent data releases, misjudgement, improper use of technology
Physical Damage - Critical infrastructure, building construction, destruction of property
What are your thoughts? Do you think there are others that should be ranked at the top?
